Question by Marietweety: Is there something you can give a dog to help ease pain with cancer?
I have a 10 yr. old female boxer who was recently diagnosed with stage 3 cancer. She has a tumor on her left shoulder blade. Lately she has been favoring the leg, only walking on three... is there anything out there to give her to help ease her pain?

I am so sorry to hear of your dog's recent diagnosis. Seems as if Boxers and cancer go hand-in-hand. How heartbreaking.

There are pain medication available through your veterinarian, so call your vet and let them know what is going on. It is however important that you realize at some point all the pain meds in the world will not even take the edge off her pain. I am not going to give you false hope here.

It is my guess the osteosarcoma has now spread down her leg and is eating away at her bone causing the lameness. Cancer sucks...

You can give your dog people aspirin or Advil. Put it in a piece of cheese of a bit of food she will eat. Make sure you use buffered or coated aspirin so you won't upset her stomach.

She just had 4 teeth pulled and if she's in pain I'm supposed to give her something for it. The thing is... I have no idea how to tell if she has mouth pain, or any pain at all.

She'll paw at her mouth, or make some kind of indication of that sort. Trust me, you'll know if she's in pain. Dogs are incredibly instinctual and she'll let you know.

Question by Maria: My dog is in pain when something touches her butt?
My dog has been fine all day until I tried to pick her up and sit her on me and as soon as her butt touched my lap she cried in pain. After awhile she was able to sit on it but now she keeps chasing her tail whimpering and she just threw up all her food. If you have any idea what this might be please let me know. Thank you so much for your time. And please look at my previous question for more of her symptoms
