My dog has had puppies and we gave them away at 6 weeks old. Ever since then Her milk producing area has been badly swollen and its hurting her. She won't eat or drink water she just mopes around and lays down slowly due to her pain. Is there anything I can do to relief her from that? or do I just wait? I would say to go to the vet , but let her relax all the time , and take things slow . Occasionally massage her stomach .

Someone said its the actual vet techs that put the dogs down, not the vet is that true?

I want to be a vet tech but if thats the case I know I could never do that job. Its one thing to be around it and even be in the room but to actually be the one that ends the life, I couldn't do that. Dog in pain or not I couldn't do that.

I always thought the actual vet did that (the vet put my dog down). Anyways I'm looking into becoming a vet tech but then I heard that.

If you become a vet tech you will have to do it. Not all the time but it will come up. If you can't handle the death that comes with the job I would consider something else.

I just asked another question (under my sister's name cause I didn't realize I wasn't signed in) about my sick dog that has this bloat disorder. So I'm 18 and my parents won't take my dog to the vet cause they're too cheap. We tried to find a cheap place to take her like the humaine society but they're still too expensive. And also my parents want her to die peacefully at home...but the problem is, is that I don't want her to be in a lot of pain. I've cried buckets of tears trying to get my parents to at least get her diagnosed but they say that if she's going to die anyway, then there's no point. So how do I know if she's in pain? And what can I do to help her. So far, she's thrown up twice, doesn't really eat that much, and is breathing weird. Please help!

best bet is to turn her in a stray and she will be put to sleep there at the shelter, just tell them you found her out walking around, dont tell them it is your dog, or they will charge you,
